Arriving in Guyana, through the gateway at Georgetown
Most international visitors arrive by air near Georgetown. A little preparation before you travel makes the arrival smooth.

Cheddi Jagan International Airport (GEO) is Guyana’s main international gateway and lies outside Georgetown. Most visitors arrive here and then travel by road into the capital or connect onward to the interior.
Routes, airlines and schedules change, so check current options with your airline or travel advisor. If you plan to visit the interior, allow time between your international arrival and any domestic flight, as connections may depend on the weather.
Entry rules vary by nationality and can change. Confirm passport validity, visa needs and any health documentation well before you travel, using official government sources.
