Interview Skills
An interview is a conversation, not an exam. Learn how to prepare, listen and answer with clarity and warmth.

Interviews are often where a contestant’s personality comes through most clearly. Judges, partners and journalists want to understand how you think, what you care about and how you handle the unexpected.
Prepare, then let go
Know your own story thoroughly: your background, your platform, your goals and why they matter to you. Read widely about current events, especially those affecting your country and your cause. Then let go of scripted answers. Memorized lines tend to sound rehearsed, while genuine reflection sounds confident.
Listen first
Many weak answers come from not hearing the question. Listen fully, take a breath and, if you need a moment, say so. Answer the question that was asked, give a short example and stop. A concise, thoughtful answer is stronger than a long one.
When a question is difficult or touches on a subject you know less about, be honest. Acknowledge what you do not know, share what you do and explain how you would learn more.
Presence matters
Sit or stand with an open posture, make natural eye contact and let your expressions match your words. Thank your interviewers at the end. People remember how you made them feel as much as what you said.
